One of the most exciting stops on this year’s Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) is scheduled for April of 2013, aboard the world’s largest cruise ship, the MS Oasis of the Seas.
Card Player Cruises, the premier poker cruise company, will host the poker tournament April 13 – 20, 2013, during Royal Caribbean’s 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise. Packages start at just $979 per person for the 7-night cruise. To book the cruise, click here.
The event will feature a $1,100 main event that will be filmed for online broadcast, single table satellites, plus live games. The ship will depart Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and will make ports of call in Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Card Player Media CEO Barry Shulman sat down with Card Player Cruises owner Linda Johnson to discuss the upcoming CPPT event.
Johnson describes the incredible ship on which the event will take place and includes details regarding each of the ports of call, as well as all of the amenities the cruise has to offer.
Johnson also explains the poker aspect of the cruise, making note of the action the ship has to offer.
“We have a Las Vegas-style poker room,” she said. “We are a separate entity, not involved with [the ship’s] casino. We bring our own tables, our own cashier, our own dealers. We have sit-n-gos, we have satellites, we have live games and we have tournaments. Basically, we have something for everyone. We have a lot of recreational players who go on the cruise, not too many professional players, so the games are good [and] the action is good. People have a lot of fun.”
