The Card Player Poker Tour has returned to bestbet Jacksonville in north Florida for an ongoing 12-event series that culminates with a $200,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event.
The $1,100 buy-in main event begins Friday, June 24 and runs for four days. Other tournaments on the schedule include Omaha eight-or-better, Big O, bounty tournaments, turbo tournaments and all-in or fold tournaments. Buy-ins range from as low as $200 up to $570 outside of the main event.
This is the fourth year in a row that the CPPT has traveled to Jacksonville. The inaugural CPPT bestbet main event was won by Harvey Vandeven of Ocala, Florida with poker pro T.K. Miles finishing second. Perhaps the most famous poker player to come out of Jacksonville is Sean Winter. Winter arrived on the scene like a whirlwind, winning the 2014 CPPT for $84,000.
Under the watchful eyes of Tournament Director Johnny Pham the daily tournament schedule at bestbet has become one of the most consistent in the state, featuring a variety of no-limit hold’em and Omaha tournaments. The most popular of these is the Friday and Sunday Deep Stack at noon which always boasts a hefty field as well as the popular $40 no-limit hold’em which serves as a “first step” for players who are completely new to tournaments.
