2018 WSOP: Main Event Kicks Off! Jul 01, 2018 The tournament every poker player has been waiting for all year is finally here. Just over one month after the first hands of the 2018 World Series of Poker were dealt, day 1A of this year’s WSOP main event is set to kick off on Monday July, 2. So far in 2018 there have already been over 60 gold bracelets awarded, with over 90,000 total entries and more than $129 million in prize money paid out… but those numbers are about to shoot way up with the biggest tournament of the year set to get underway.
