Black Chip Poker plays host to some of the biggest tournaments online, but it’s more than the sum of its MTTs. The combination of juicy cash games, rakeback, innovative features, and crypto payments make Black Chip a world-class platform in every department.

Before you read through my Black Chip Poker review, here’s a high-level summary:

Black Chip Poker and ACR might be teammates on the same network, but Black Chip is a fantastic poker site in its own right. This Black Chip Poker review is my way of making sure you don’t overlook a genuinely impressive platform.

Black Chip Poker launched in 2008 and initially called the Merge Poker Network home. However, since it moved to the Winning Poker Network (WPN) in 2012, Black Chip has become one of the top poker sites for tournaments.

The Black Chip Poker bonus for newbies is generous, as are the other ongoing offers. However, it’s the flexibility of Black Chip’s promotions that’s most impressive. Here’s everything you need to know about Black Chip Poker’s bonuses.

The Black Chip Poker welcome bonus is a $2,000 deposit match, which makes it one of the biggest opening offers out there right now. Here are the key details:

Make sure you enter the Black Chip Poker bonus code CP1000BCP during the registration process. Without it, you won’t get any bonus credits when you deposit $25 or more. Bonus credits are released incrementally, which means you can still get something from this offer even if you don’t clear all of it within the 60-day time limit.

As stated in the terms of the Black Chip Poker bonus code offer, you’ll receive $1 for every 27.5 Award Points earned. Everyone gets 5.5 points for every $1 they pay in Black Chip Poker rake. Therefore, you need to rake $5 to receive $1 of your bonus.

That equates to 20% rakeback, which is a decent return on your initial investment. It’s not quite on par with the welcome bonus we found while creating our CoinPoker review, but it should give most players a decent initial bankroll boost.

Leaderboards are a great way to squeeze extra value out of Black Chip’s poker tournaments, cash games, and SNGs. There are two weekly promotions, and both offer a combination of cash prizes and free tournament tickets:

I’m a big fan of Black Chip Poker’s freerolls. There are eight free Black Chip Poker tournaments every day, and each one has a $50 guaranteed prizepool. I’d love the promo team to beef up some of the prizepools, even if it’s just one freeroll per day.

However, if you join all eight events, it’s possible to play for $400 in freeroll prizes every day. That’s impressive, particularly if you’re a newbie looking to build a bankroll from nothing. The other thing I really like about Black Chip Poker’s online poker freerolls is their variety.

Each day of the week brings a new variant. Mondays are for No Limit Hold’em, Tuesdays are for Pot Limit Omaha, Wednesdays are for Omaha Hi/Lo, and so on. It’s rare to see non-Hold’em freerolls, so I have to commend Black Chip Poker for giving everyone a shot at free money.

Beyond the Black Chip Poker bonus code offer for new customers, leaderboards, and freerolls, here are some other bonuses and offers you can claim:

Follow these four steps to complete the Black Chip Poker download process and claim the welcome bonus:

Many players use ACR for poker tournaments, but I’ve made it one of my main sites for cash games. You can read my ACR review to find out why, but one of the reasons I made that decision is because I use Black Chip for tournaments.

Black Chip Poker’s tournament schedule is the same as ACR’s, but I slightly prefer the lobby of Black Chip for Winning Poker Network tournaments.

Before I talk specifics, here’s a quick overview of Black Chip Poker tournaments:

Black Chip Poker tournaments cost less than a dollar on the first rung of the ladder and more than $2,650 at the top. That’s a decent spread, not least because BCP runs plenty of freerolls for its bigger buy-in events.

For me, the real reason Black Chip Poker tournaments trump all others is their guarantees. In 2024, the team at BCP Poker HQ added more money and low-stakes MTTs to the schedule.

The increase took the total amount of guaranteed prize money up for grabs every week to more than $9 million. Very few online poker sites can match that, and there certainly aren’t any crypto poker sites capable of guaranteeing this much prize money.

On-demand Black Chip Poker tournaments are another standout feature. The smallest SNGs cost $0.53, which is clearly affordable for most players. What I will say, though, is that some other top-rated poker sites have $0.10 SNGs.

For me, the real highlights of the SNG lobby are the three Jackpot tournaments. Costing $5, $15, and $50, each one is a three-handed winner-takes-all showdown. Prizepools are decided at random before the action starts and range from 2x to 1,000x.

That’s all pretty standard. What’s not standard is the fact that there’s an additional $1 million top prize. This prize is available at all levels, but the chances of playing for $1 million decrease as you move down the buy-ins.

However, the fact remains that you could win $1 million in a $5 hyper-turbo SNG that could be over in less than five minutes. Not a bad day’s work.

Even though I primarily use Black Chip Poker Online Poker for tournaments, I know what the cash games are like. As I’ve said, Black Chip and ACR are part of the same network. That means they both tap into the same network of 20,000+ players and share innovative features such as bomb pots, where every player sticks in an ante and betting begins on the flop.

Black Chip Poker’s cash games look like this from a general perspective:

Log into the Black Chip Poker app on any given day, at any time, and you’ll find plenty of Hold’em and Omaha games running. I’m usually grinding in $1/$2 games, but there are many soft spots at tables just above and below this level.

Things get a bit tougher as you move up the ladder. I’m not saying you’ll be faced with unbeatable games at $5/$10 and above, but there are certainly more accomplished players than at sites such as CoinPoker and BetOnline.

What’s particularly impressive about Black Chip’s cash game lobby is that it caters to niche tastes. Specifically, you can play 5-Card Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, and Stud Hi/Lo. Admittedly, there’s not a ton of action outside of peak times.

However, there aren’t many poker sites that offer all of these games nowadays. So, as I’ve said already in this Black Chip Poker review, there’s a clear desire to give something to every type of player.

You can play six different types of poker at Black Chip. Mixed Games are missing from the line-up, but other niche variants are available.
