Min cash, Sitngo win and a few other Events

So the $1,500 Day 2 didn’t go as planned…I loved my table draw and chipped up before the bubble and then a younger aggro kid came and sat to my direct left and we tangled in a few hands before they broke our table…so i went to a new table w $55k @ 800/1600 and it seemed to be a good draw again and I was happy until the following hand happened…It is the last hand before a 20 min break and I tend to raise w any 2 in that situation as most people can’t wait to get up for break. I look down at 4c5c UTG and make it 4,100 and get called by an older man in mid position and the rest of the table is gone to break. The flop came AcJh7d…I really think he is folding most non Ace hands to my cbet here so I make it 5,700 and he calls (he has 25k left after the flop) Before the turn comes I am thinking in my head if a club, 4, or an 8 comes I am not getting away…so the 8 of clubs comes on the turn giving me open ended and a flush draw…I lead for 11,600 or something w zero intentions of folding…he kinda leans up to look at the board then goes all in…uh ok I call…and he has the old TT…2h on river and I’m down to about 9 bb. No clue how he can’t get away from TT on AJ78 board but he did it…nh sir! So I busted in 182nd place for a min cash and obviously was not happy but I think I played well…just didn’t work out on that hand.

I played a $1k sitngo w 2 last longers…1 Heads up and 1 that was 8 way…I ran really well and w no chops, I won both last longers and the $10k for first! I immediately registered for the Main Event and chose Day 1b July 6th.

I also played the $1k this wk and for the first time I played on a Sunday…and wow what a difference…sooooo soft…really good table…and I was cruising early and got up to like 11k before dinner from 3k starting stack…I played a nice hand where I raise the cutoff w A6 and got called by the button and bb. I flopped the Ace and there were 3 hearts out there, the button called and 6c came on the turn…I have the 6hearts…so 2 pair and 6 high draw…but when I lead turn and he flats again I know he has a big heart and maybe a pair but my read is just a draw…so a blank on the river and I know he has to bluff at it so i induce the bluff with a check and snap call his bet and he turns over KhQs for K high. I really like the river check when I know what my opponent has and I am pretty sure he can’t call a bet but will bluff if checked to him. I lost a big pot w AK to KQ when the guy hit his queen and I doubled him up…unfortunately later after dinner the same guy had top set on me when I had just top pair and I was out the door before the end of day one…dissapointing considering my table and my stack early on.

Today was the $1,500 Shootout and these are exciting because they are just 1 table and you more than triple your buy in just by winning your first table. I had a pretty good draw and was fortunate enough to double up early. We lost a few of the bad players pretty quick and were down to 4 handed before I knew it. I haven’t 3bet my boy Ryan yet…so I decided to 3bet Ac2c from the small blind when he opened UTG 4 handed…he flatted me and I flopped a flush draw and we got it in on the turn, he faded and I was out.

I am really excited for this week…my fiance is coming into town tomorrow, we have dinner reservations at Alize, which I ate at last week and it was just amazing, so I am going back. Then on Wednesday, we are going to the NHL Awards show and after party at Palms…I went to this last year and it was the funnest thing all summer…I am a die hard hockey fan from da burgh and it is just an exciting event to go to…Snoop is performing, Mark Walhberg, Goo Goo Dolls…and all the players and coaches just hang out so its really a great time and I can’t wait! My sister is also coming into town along with a bunch of my fiances friends for her bachelorette party this whole wknd so we will be hanging out a few nights this week and I am off work until the $1500 NL Event on Friday!
