My 55th place in the main and a wrap up of the summer

I made it to Day 7 in the 2010 WSOP Main Event…what an experience it was…I was on cruise control for 5 days and then on Day 6 I hit a little bump in the road…I made a big call that was wrong and was more card dead than I had been the entire week. It didn’t help that I had one of the tougher tables as well…2 of the chip leaders and one directly on my left…it was a really tough day but I bagged chips and there was 78 left going into Day 7. I lost a huge flip early on Day 7 when the button shoved K8 and I called in the small blind w 77 and that put me in a rough spot needing to double fast…I was able to double after an orbit or so, however the blinds were so high I got in another tough spot and made a call against the same kid w KT this time after he spewed off a lot of his chips he got short again and shoved the button again and the sb folded out of turn so I decided I was ahead of his range w KT based on history and the fact the sb folded out of turn…my calling range and his shoving range go up…he was ahead and stayed far ahead when the Ace hit the flop…I was virtually out and just missed a $30k payjump when I shoved 2 bb with A6..and JT iso’d and knocked me out. GG Main Event.

It was an amazing experience to get that deep in the main and have a shot. I could play this structure tourney anytime…I am extremely happy with how I played all week…with the exception of a few hands…which is reasonable…it isn’t easy to play perfect for a week straight at the tail end of the summer…but again I am happy with how I played and I will take the $138k for 55th place and my 5th cash of the summer. There should be some hands that make TV as well as my ESPN interview that I did. There are also 2 interviews on cardplayer TV if you want to check them out…one with Rebecca and the other with Christina. I really enjoyed this summer…I was really focused this year and partied alot less and it turned out to be a huge advantage for me. I will miss Vegas, but not right away…I was extremely happy to get back to Pittsburgh…Looking forward to relaxing, as well as seeing my family and friends.

I have alot going on at home right now as me and Kristen are less than a month away from the wedding in August…we have alot of last minute stuff to get done. I also am having my bachelor party next weekend…and I can’t wait to get together with all my boys for that! We also have the honeymoon in late August so that will be alot of fun…until then I will just be playing a little online…including some FTOPS events and checking out the brand new poker room in da burgh @ Rivers Casino.

Next poker trip is the always fun September Borgata Open…See you there!

P.S…apparently I will be doing Jason Young’s 20 questions tomorrow…so look out for that
