Weekend Wrapup + Jon at ANOTHER final table

I'm writing this blog from the tiny airport in Huntsville, Alabama. Late Thursday night I decided I'd fly home early Friday morning to make it for my girlfriend's brother's graduation and the subsequent graduation parties that would ensue. I flew out of LAS at 6 a.m. PST and made it to HSV around 1:30 CST. We went to Chris's graduation that night and had a good time. I remember my H.S. graduation, and this one was a polar opposite. At mine the parents would get kicked out if they cheered for their kids before the completion of the ceremony. At Grissom High School's cheering was almost encouraged and there was no shortage of screams and airhorns. The graduates also blew up beach balls and inflatable human dolls, so that was pretty entertaining. After the graduation, we headed out to a graduation party and had several drinks.

Saturday we woke up and headed up on a mountain to a park where they were hosting a barbecue for some of the graduates. We lounged around in the sun and had a bunch of BBQ sandwiches and the like. It was a good time. Later we ate dinner at Little Rosie's, a good Mexican restaurant in Huntsville. Today, we ate lunch at TGI Friday's before Stephanie dropped me off at the airport.

Believe it or not, Jon is at yet another final table. He final tabled the 2500 dollar event at Mandalay Bay. The event had 110 players or something, but a final table is a final table. The ever-entertaining Anna Wroblewski and Erica Schoenberg are at the final table, according to Jon's blog. Jon is second in the 2007 PoY race, and he can climb within 700ish points of JC Tran if he wins today. I, on the other hand, have a lot of work to do, as I'm ranked 1752nd in the 2007 PoY race.

I arrive in Vegas around 8:25 p.m. tonight, and I think I'm going to hustle over to Mandalay Bay in time for the 9 p.m. 1000 dollar satellite to the main event that starts Tuesday.
