I'm on to day 2 of the $2000 Limit Hold 'em event with 16,900 in chips. The average is around 25,000 and we'll play 1/2000 limits beginning at 2 p.m. tomorrow. 107 players remain and 45 will get paid. I'm hoping for my first career cash in a LHE event. Things can change really quickly at these limits.
In other news, I busted Event 36, a $2000 NLHE event early this afternoon on day 2 about 40 spots shy of the money. I was crippled down to 2100 late in day 1 after I stuck it in terribly with two queens against this woman's obvious Aces with about 12 minutes to go in the night. I doubled and ended the night and returned to playing 6/1200 with just 6200, so that's why I played the LHE event today as well. I'm very, very angry at myself for going with the queens in that spot and as long as I'm making mistakes like that I don't deserve to cash, much less contend for a bracelet.
Since I'm a little short I've decided that I'll also play the $1500 NLHE event that begins at noon. I'll play from 12-2 and then blind out as long as I'm still in the LHE event, and of course I'll play NLHE while on the breaks from LHE. It's been all poker all the time lately, but I still feel pretty fresh and I'm still loving my job.
Also, HUGE congrats to my longtime good friend Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin for winning the $1500 NLHE event for over half a million dollars and of course the gold bracelet. It was awesome to sweat and I couldn't be happier for him. I'm hella jealous now though and want a bracelet of my own. Myself and three of my other close friends: Adam Geyer, Cody Slaubaugh, and Marco Johnson are all in the bridesmaid club with second place finishes in bracelet events, so it was nice to see Eric close the deal and give our group some momentum.
