German player Jens Kerper went into the final table of the Grand Series of Poker Manchester in the lead and never lost his momentum. He faced his final opponent Norwegian Rolf Inge Kvanik with almost a ten to one chip lead and in less than 10 minutes he had sealed the deal.
The final table lasted just over four levels and the last hand came when Kerper’s Q 9 hit a queen on the flop versus Kvanik’s A 8. Nothing came to help the Norwegian improve and he left with $51,570 for second place.
Kerper outlasted 257 players at the famous Old Trafford football stadium to take home $81,175 to Germany.
