Oklahoma State House. Wikipedia. The state of Oklahoma is seriously considering sports betting at its gambling dens.

According to a report from tulsaworld.com, a Oklahoma House of Representatives committee on Monday advanced a sports betting proposal, which sends the measure to the full House floor for a potential vote.

In order to let the tribal casinos within its borders offer sports betting, Oklahoma coffers would get 10 percent of the revenue. The legislation also calls for craps and roulette, the report said.

Under the Oklahoma plan for sports betting, the wagers would have to be pooled, and gamblers would compete against each other. In other words, the sports betting would not be house-banked.

The Appropriations and Budget Committee voted 17-8 in favor of the bill.

About 20 states have either legalized sports betting or are considering it. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule on the issue around mid-year.

The state closest to unveiling legal sports betting is New Jersey. The state’s gambling regulators have already began the application process for sports books.
