With only 117 players remaining, we are getting very close to the money bubble at 81 players. Those who survive will be rewarded with at least $2,750 for their troubles, but all the remaining players have their eyes on the final table. With the average stack set at 31,462, a number of players have separated themselves from the pack, but nobody has dominated as well as former WSOP bracelet winner David Bach, who has amassed 124,000 chips. Bach is the only person who has crossed the six-figure mark, but others near the top of the leader board include Brock Parker, Jordan Siegel, Scott Epstein, Chau Giang and Steve Sung. Card Player’s own Allyn Jaffrey Shulman is also still hanging tough at a table that includes Huck Seed and Amnon Filippi. She has about 11,000 sitting in front of her. Phil Ivey is still in the field, sitting just below the average mark with about 29,000 in chips. Other notables still in contention include Todd Brunson, John Hoang, Berry Johnston, Dario Minieri, Andy Black, Allen Kessler, Gavin Smith, Jeffrey Lisandro and Shawn Buchanan. Two former WSOP Player of the Year winners are currently seated next to each other in Jeff Madsen and Tom Schneider. The plan for the evening is to continue to play until only nine remain, but if the tournament stretches to ten levels of play, the tournament director has the right to suspend play and continue on Tuesday.
