It was folded around to Stephen Cheski on the button and he moved all in for 38,000. Mario Oliveira in the small blind called and the big blind folded. Cheski tabled J7, and he was flipping against Oliveira’s 55. The flop fell 1088, which gave Cheski additional outs to win the hand. The 2 on the turn only added to his outs, but there was just one more card to come. The Q on the river completed the backdoor flush draw for Cheski.

“Runner, runner,” Oliveira remarked in disbelief.

Oliveira was down to under 100,000 thanks to the hand. The average stack was 202,000.

Miles Hits Flush To Best Duecker's Set of Kings

Timothy Duecker, who won event no. 3: $240 Omaha 8 or better earlier in the series, raised to 1,150 from under the gun. Timothy Miles called from the button and Steve Cheski called from the small blind. The three saw a flop of A62 and Cheski checked. Duecker bet 2,350 and Miles and Cheski called. The turn was the 7 and all three checked to the K on the river. Cheski checked again, Duecker checked and Miles fired out a bet of 7,700. Cheski released his hand and Duecker called.

Miles showed AJ for the Ace-High diamond flush. Duecker eyed the board and showed his pocket Kings before tossing his cards.
