James Joyner Bests Jesus Muniz
Sep 06, '13
James Joyner has taken another pot from an opponent.
Wyatt Brown raised to 1,000 from under the gun and Jesus Muniz three-bet to 2,600 from middle position. Joyner called from the cutoff and Ben Beebe called from the big blind. The four saw a flop of J64.
Beebe checked, Brown checked, Muniz bet 5,900 and Joyner called. Beebe and Brown folded and the dealer turned over the 8. Muniz bet 8,300 and Joyner called to see the 2 on the river. Both Players checked and the hands were tabled.
Muniz showed 77 but Joyner was ahead with J8 and took the pot.

James Joyner Busts One
Sep 06, '13
James Joyner raised to 2,000 from under the gun and was called by the button before the small blind moved all in for his last 13,800.
Jesus Muniz then called the all in from the big blind, only to see Joyner move all in behind him. The button folded and Muniz went into the tank. Sitting with about 62,000 behind, most of his stack would be in jeopardy.
After a two minutes, Muniz folded what he later claimed were pocket jacks. Joyner showed JJ for the other two jacks and saw he was flipping against the small blind’s AK.
The board ran out 44335 and Joyner took the pot, increasing his stack to 91,000.

Miles Is Miles Ahead Of The Field
Sep 06, '13
A player moved all in from under the gun for his last 1,500 and was called by Jesus Muniz, T.K. Miles, the hijack and the big blind. The flop came down 872 and everyone checked to Miles, who bet 3,600.
The hijack was the only caller and the turn was the 6. Miles asked his opponent how much he hand behind and then checked. The hijack then moved all in for 28,375.
“That’s a big bet,” said Miles. After about 90 seconds in the tank, Miles made the call, tabling 87. His opponent revealed 99 for an overpair and a straight draw and the other all in player, who the dealer seemed to forget about, never turned over his cards.
The river was the 8 and Miles improved to a full house to eliminate his two opponents. He now has 138,000 in chips and is by far the biggest stack in the room.

Monster Pot for Jesus Muniz
Sep 06, '13
Jesus Muniz raised to 100 from under the gun and Ray Weaver called from the cutoff. Evan Teitelbaum re-raised to 550 from the button, William Davidson called from the big blind and action was back on Muniz. Muniz tossed out the extra chips to make the call and Weaver did the same.
The dealer fanned 1052 and Davidson checked. Muniz bet 625, Weaver released his hand and Teitelbaum raised to 2,700. Davidson got out of the way and Muniz called.
The turn was 7, Muniz checked and Teitelbaum fired out 4,700. Muniz called and the river was the 9.
Muniz fired out another massive bet, this time 8,300 and Teitelbaum went into the tank.
“You hit a set of fives,” Teitelbaum asked.
Muniz agreed to show one card and showed one five. Teitelbaum later told us he folded pocket aces.
