That Was QuickFeb 28, '11 We didn’t catch the action, but Ryan Welch just stopped by to tell us how he was the first to be eliminated here on day 4. It folded to Welch in the small blind and he moved all in with 10-8. Luke Staudenmaier slowly peeled his cards with Welch and looked down at A-4, more than enough to make the call. The board ran out 9-9-9-K-A and Welch was eliminated. Player Tags: Luke Staudenmaier, Ryan Welch |

Two players limp and Luke Staudenmaier raises from the cutoff. John Juanda calls on the button, as does both limpers. The flop comes 9-3-2 and it's checked to Staudenmaier, who bets 1,800. Juanda accidently raises to 16,800, claiming he mistook his 5,000 chips for 500 chips. Staudenmaier reraises to about 45,000 anyway and both players get it all in. Juanda has pocket threes for middle set, but Staudenmaier flopped top set with pocket nines. The board bricked out and Staudenmaier eliminates Juanda, vaulting him up to 295,000. Yes, we are still in the first level!
Player Tags: John Juanda, Luke Staudenmaier Luke Staudenmaier Takes the LeadOct 28, '08 Sitting with 190,000 in chips, Luke Staudenmaier is the early chip leader here at Caesars. Staudenmaier explain his newfound wealth coming from an amateur who committed his stack drawing dead. The flop came A109 and Staudenmaier's opponent slow played the 53 for a flopped flush. Staudenmaier caught up when the A hit the turn, giving him aces full of tens. The money got all in and Staudenmaier claimed his first bounty of the day.

He Wears GogglesJul 11, '08 Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaire just took the chip lead after eliminating Michael Mizrachi in a monster pot. We picked up the action on the river with the board reading K10622 and roughly 42,000 in the pot. All of the bets had been put in the pot, but Staudenmaire was all in for about 77,000 and it was up to Mizrachi to call off his last 55,000. "Do you have a full house?" said Mizrachi. "I can beat K-10." Clearly frustrated with being put through the mental grinder, Mizrachi finally put the last of his chips in the middle. Theo Tran, seated across the table, instantly sighed in disappointment, sensing that his friend's hand was no good. Mizrachi showed AA, but Staudenmaire revealed 66 for a full house. Mizrachi was eliminated, and the young online pro chipped up to roughly 175,000 in chips. Player Tags: Michael Mizrachi, Luke Staudenmaier Marco Johnson Eliminated by Luke StaudenmaireJul 15, '08 During the redraw, we were able to figure out how Day 1 chip leader Marco Johnson was eliminated. "CrazyMarco" got it all in with pocket nines against the pocket kings of Luke Staudenmaire. "IWEARGOGGLES" won the hand and knocked out Johnson. Staudenmaire now has a little under 600,000 in chips.
