This past Tuesday, Red Deck Productions announced that it will begin filming a new poker television show called High Stakes Hold’em in late March at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, NV.
The weekly one-hour show will air nationwide in the middle of 2011. The broadcast schedule and air times have yet to be released.
Season 1 will feature 13 episodes filmed at a high-stakes ring game and two episodes filmed at the main event final table of the 2011 Atlantis All In Poker Series.
“High Stakes Hold’em will be a completely new experience for the poker viewing public,” Eric Ulis, founder and CEO of Red Deck Productions, wrote in a press release. “HSH will be edgy, aggressive, and very unique.”
Commentary for the show will be provided by Ulis and 2007 World Series of Poker Player of the Year, Tom Schneider.
The ring-game episodes will feature the following players battling it out at a high-stakes no-limit hold’em table: Dan “djk123” Kelly, Amit “Amak316” Makhija, Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger, Melanie “Callisto” Weisner, Matt “mcmatto” Affleck, and Dan “jungleman12” Cates.
Cates was the most profitable player in the online world in 2010. The 21-year-old nosebleed regular was up about $5.5 million on the virtual felt last year.
