888 Poker Revenue Falls 2 Percent

Poker Revenue Decrease Slows As Number Of Active Customers Rises At 888.com

888 CEO Gigi Levy888.com today issued its key performance indicators for the first quarter of 2011. Business-to-consumer poker revenue was US$11.3 million, down 2 percent on the $11.6 million taken in the first quarter of 2010 but up 7 percent on the final quarter of 2010.

The slowing decrease was assisted by the number of active customers in poker which jumped to 221,000, an increase of 32 percent compared to a year earlier.

However quarterly revenue per active poker customer fell 26 percent to US$51 compared to the first quarter of 2010 and 3 percent compared the final quarter of 2010.

Overall group revenue was up 9 percent to US$75 million compared to $69 million a year earlier and ahead 6 percent of the final quarter of last year.

Chief executive Gigi Levy, who announced he was leaving the company earlier this week, said, “As announced earlier in the week I feel now is the right time to stand down, leaving the company stable and growing. I want to thank the board and the shareholders for their support and I also want to send a special thank you to the employees and managers of the company, who worked with me around the clock, believing in the company, its capabilities and prospects.”
