Following on from Tuesday’s announcement that Caesars Interactive Entertainment was readying its World Series of Poker brand for expected online poker regulation in the U.S. the company has moved to extend its toe-hold in the French market.

The company is extending its deal with Groupe Lucien Barrière and Française des Jeux to develop the WSOP brand online with LB Poker.

Chief executive officer of Caesars, Mitch Garber, said: “Having reached an initial agreement for the WSOP Europe, we are now happy to build with LB Poker an online strategy through long-term co-development of a proprietary poker platform.

“The potential for this French technology by LB Poker will help us accelerate our strategy of developing our brands in the online environment in all countries where poker is or will be legal.“

The deal marks a further strengthening of ties between the two companies who brought the World Series of Poker Europe to France for the first time last year.
