Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw -- Day 2 Results

936 Entries in First Event, Tejada and McGee Win

The second day of preliminary events at the inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw saw the tournament room fully packed, with each of the events having solid turnouts. Event 1 continues on to Saturday, while event 3 and the nightly $125 determined champions.

Here are the results for Friday’s events:

Event 1 — $235 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry ($100,000 Guarantee)

Day 1B of the first event of the series drew a massive 528 entries, combining with day 1A’s 408 for a total of 936 entries. As a result of the impressive turnout, this $235 buy-in built a $177,840 prize pool, smashing the event’s $100,000 guarantee. A total of 99 players will make the money, with the eventual champion set to take home $33,779.

The 125 survived the two starting days will combine on Saturday at noon and play down to a champion.

Event 3 — $200 No-Limit Hold’em

Sebastian TejadaKaty, Texas’ Sebastian Tejada has won event 3 of the CPPT Choctaw, earning $8,843 for the win. Tejada topped a 219-player field to earn the lion’s share of the $36,113 prize pool, defeating runner-up Michael Romero in the early hours of Saturday.

Tejada is no stranger to tournament success at Choctaw, having final tabled two events at the Native American Casino Poker Tour, including a ninth-place finish in that series’ main event.
