Reports have come out that pro-gambling interests in Texas are not going to be lobbying as much this year as they did during the previous legislative session.

One of the numerous gambling plans in the state is for poker, as Texas hold’em is currently not legal in Texas. Another is for resort-style casinos.

Lawmakers in Texas have tried for years to beef up the state’s gambling industry. The state has limited gambling right now, and the odds are slim for the bills to be successful.

Texas has bingo halls, pari-mutuel facilities, tribal casinos and state-owned lotteries.
