On Thursday, Gus Hansen revived an old hand he played against Daniel Negreanu on High Stakes Poker. The 2006 pot, which was the largest the show had ever seen at the time, was a “sick” cooler, as a giddy Hansen described it then.

Both players flopped sets, with Hansen having the under. However, the turn gave Hansen quads, and all the money eventually went in on the river. Negreanu was flabbergasted.

The Danish poker pro’s Tweet was seemingly a random needle at one of his longtime foes at the poker table. Essentially coworkers these days, Hansen (Full Tilt Poker) and Negreanu (PokerStars) both work under the umbrella of ownership of one web poker company.

Negreanu didn’t respond, at least not within the first handful of hours, to Hansen’s Tweet. Losing the $575,000 hand on the show was about standard for Negreanu, who always had a difficult time winning on High Stakes Poker throughout the years.

It’s unclear if the popular show will return in the future.

Hansen might actually need to start playing him again in the live setting, as he’s currently down just under $4 million online since Full Tilt relaunched in November, according to data from HighstakesDB. While he’s had a ton of success in live tournaments and seemingly ran well in live cash, Hansen is one of the most unsuccessful Internet players in history.
