Registration is now closed in the 2012 World Poker Tour Championship $25,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. A total of 146 entries were made, building a prize pool of $3,540,500. Only fifteen will make the money — with a min-cash worth $49,210 — but all the remaining competitors will certainly have their eyes on the $1,150,297 first-place prize.

This year’s turnout is just slightly (4%) down from 2012, which drew 152 entries. Last year’s champion, Marvin Rettenmaier, still has a chance to defend his title, as he will return tomorrow with 178,100 in chips.

At the end of day 2, a total of 66 players remained with recent 2013 WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open main event champion Mike Linster in the lead with 744,000 in chips. Other notables who will return for day 3 with large stacks include Dan Shak (617,300), Antonio Esfandiari (536,100), Steven Silverman (513,200) and Jake Cody (453,500).
