Ultimate Poker launched in late April, becoming the first regulated online poker site in the state of Nevada. On Monday, Ultimate Gaming announced that they have teamed up with Trump Taj Mahal Associates to bring their online poker platform to New Jersey — one day — as well.

“Today we are excited to be entering into an agreement with Trump Taj Mahal Associates to bring online gaming to New Jersey," said Tom Breitling, Chairman of Ultimate Gaming. “This represents a huge step forward in our desire to offer Americans across the nation the opportunity to enjoy safe and regulated online games."

Backed by Station Casinos, which does not have a brick-and-mortar casino in New Jersey, Ultimate Gaming would have been shut out of the state without a partnership. In Nevada, the online poker site didn’t need a partnership since the casino firm is based there.

A launch date for the product has not yet been announced and there is no word on whether or not Nevada players will be able to compete with New Jersey players. However, Nevada and Gov. Brian Sandoval have already begun preparing a bill that would allow the two states, and any other state that legalizes online poker, to link their player pools.

New Jersey legalized online poker in February. They joined Nevada and Delaware as the only three states who have regulated the industry.

Other states, like California, could be in the mix for online poker legislation.
