Hellmuth won the WSOPE main event last yearThe World Series of Poker has announced its schedule for the 2013 series in Europe, which will be held near Paris, France. The WSOPE kicks off Friday, Oct. 11 with a brand new special event.

The series will commence with a €1,000+€100 buy-in “Ladies” no-limit hold’em tournament. The WSOPE has never held such a tournament before, despite one being a staple of the summer festival for many years now. The Ladies event will make eight bracelets to be awarded this year in the suburbs of Paris.

“We first offered a Ladies event at the Vegas WSOP in 1977, and felt it was the right time to add this tradition to WSOPE,” WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart said in a statement. “We need to do more to promote ladies involvement with the game, and with the many breakout stars in the region, it feels like a women’s European championship is long overdue.”

The series will conclude on Oct. 25 with the conclusion of the €10,000+€450 buy-in main event, which was won by none other than Phil Hellmuth last year.
