Arthur MorrisAfter two day-one flights at the Card Player Poker Tour Choctaw $1,500 main event in Durant, Oklahoma the total field size is 735 players. That made for a total prize pool of $1,103,091, which doubled the $500,000 guarantee. There were 66 players that made it through Day 1B and they will join the 30 survivors from Day 1A on Sunday, August 4 at noon CT. That makes this the third CPPT main event to produce a million-dollar prizepool, but this is the first one to accomplish that feat with a buy-in less than $5,000. This year’s prizepool also represents significant growth over the 2012 CPPT Choctaw main event, which was $760,000.

Big names that advanced to Day 2 include local legend T.J. Cloutier, Card Player’s Allyn Jaffrey Shulman, Chance Kornuth, Blair Hinkle, Jordan Morgan, and Robert Salaburu. The familiar faces that weren’t so lucky included Allen Kessler, Grant Hinkle, Tommy Vedes, Andy Philachack, and Alex Phahurat, who purchased seven entries in the tournament.

The chip leader on Day 2 will be Arthur Morris with 585,500. Joining him at the summit will be Jim Carroll (531,000), Jose Galindo (483,500), Hugo Perez (467,000) and Allan Farber (427,500).

The winner of the tournament will walk away with a top prize worth $220,626 at the conclusion of the final table on Monday, and you can watch each and every hand from that final table on a live stream broadcast. The top 81 players will walk away with at least $2,747 starting tomorrow and since there are just 96 coming back that money bubble should burst pretty quick. Here is a breakdown of the final table payouts up for grabs on Monday at the final table.
