bestbet Jacksonvillebestbet Jacksonville will play host to the first stop on the Card Player Poker Tour Season II schedule, a 14-event series of no limit hold’em tournaments culminating with the $1,500 buy-in $300,000 guarantee main event.

The stop will kick off August 29, 2013 with event no. 1, a $350 no limit hold’em tournament at 12 pm. The main event will begin at 12 pm September 6 and satellites will run daily, giving players a chance to win their seat at a lower price. The main event will feature two starting days and players will begin with 20,000 in chips and one hour levels.

bestbet Jacksonville’s poker room features 70 tables, an expansive simulcast wagering facility with numerous 120” wide screens to watch and wager on greyhound and thoroughbred races or jai alai. The room also features full food and beverage service and is conveniently located near Jacksonville International Airport.

The card room is also close enough to the Jacksonville metro area to afford easy access to the diverse attractions that make the city a popular tourist destination.

“If you are new to Florida’s beautiful First Coast, you may want to explore the treasures that Jacksonville has to offer,” said Deborah Giardina, Vice President of Poker Operations at bestbet. “The city is home to incredible beaches and water sports, fine dining and world class golf.”

Giardina encouraged CPPT bestbet tournament players to reach out to her and her staff for assistance and advice on exploring the city.

The CPPT is a series of live poker tournaments started by Card Player Media and just wrapped up its first season at the Choctaw Resort Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. Season I featured seven stops including the Venetian in Las Vegas, the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles and a poker cruise in the Caribbean. Two players from Season I cashed out for more than $200,000 – Ray Dehkharghani who won the Wynn Classic main event and Mo Abedi-Arani who won the Choctaw main event. Allyn Jaffrey Shulman brought home over $300,000 from Season I after she won the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza main event and locked up a deep run in the Choctaw main event.

After bestbet Jacksonville, Season II will head to Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida December 6-15, Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut February 8-17 and the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada March 14-23. More stops are expected to be added to the tour in the upcoming months.

“We are very excited for our association with the Card Player Poker Tour,” Giardina said. “We look forward to providing players with Vegas style wagering and Jacksonville style hospitality.”
