Poker Business: Table Game Revenue Strong For Pennsylvania Casinos In Month Of July

A Total Of $59.9 million Brought In From Such Offerings

Despite a tiny decrease in overall gaming revenue for the month of July 2013 compared to July 2012, table games in Pennsylvania are bringing in strong revenue.

According to a report released Monday by the state’s gaming regulatory authority, revenue from table games play at the 12 Pennsylvania casinos was $59.9 million in July 2013. The figure marked a 6.1-percent increase when compared to the previous July.

The number of tables in Pennsylvania was 1,072 in July 2013. July 2012 had 1,037.

Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem has the most tables at 183. That casino brought in just under $13 million from those games in July 2013.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin opened the first of last month.

The report also stated that when table game revenues were combined with figures for slot machine revenue, overall gross revenue was $264,860,050 this past July. That figure was a 1.7-percent decrease from last year’s total gross revenue of $269,354,774.

Pennsylvania legalized casinos in 2004, and the first one opened three years later. Overall, the casinos bring in about $3.1 billion per year, second-best in the nation behind Nevada. Pennsylvania recently overtook New Jersey has the no. 2 gambling market in the United States. Though, the Garden State is set to offer online gambling come this fall.
