In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 WPT Legends of Poker (Jul 28, ‘13 – Sep 04, ’13) The World Poker Tour has also returned to the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA for it’s 30-event Legends of Poker series. The highlight this week is of course the World Poker Tour $3,700 no-limit hold’em main event, which kicks off with the first of three starting days on Aug. 29th at 1:00 PM. Play will continue until the newest WPT champion is decided on Sept. 4th.
SOUTH
- The 2013 River Poker Series (Aug 14, ‘13 – Sep 01, ’13) The WinStar Casinos in Thackerville, OK moves into the final week of its popular River Poker Series this week, with the highlight being the $2.5 million guaranteed, $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event, which features three starting days beginning on Aug. 29th at noon.
- The 2013 Beau Rivage Gulf Coast Poker Championship (Aug 22, ‘13 – Sep 02, ’13) The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, MS is also moving into the final stretch of it’s 12-event tournament series this week, with the highlight being the $1,580no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days on Aug. 30th at noon.
FLORIDA
- The Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville (Aug 29, ‘13 – Sep 09, ’13) The bestbet Jacksonville will host the Card Player Poker Tour beginning this week for the 2013 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville tournament series, with 13 events and numerous satellites taking place from August 29th through September 9th in Florida’s largest and most exciting poker room. The early highlight is the kickoff event, a four-day $350 no-limit hold’em event which sports a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. This tournament features three starting days, beginning on Aug. 29th at noon.
- The 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (Aug 08, ‘13 – Aug 29, ’13) The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, FL continues with it’s exciting 33-event series, with this week’s highlight being the $100,000 World Poker Tour Alpha Eight high roller, which begins on Aug. 26th at noon.
NEVADA
- The 2013 Festa al Lago Classic (Aug 30, ‘13 – Sep 13, ’13) The Bellagio Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, NV will once again play home to high-stakes tournament poker action with it’s annual fall tournament series starting late this week with a $540 no-limit hold’em event kicking off the 23-tournament series on Aug. 30th.
- The 2013 Kick Off Poker Classic (Aug 30, ‘13 – Sep 15, ’13) A 34-event tournament series kicks off this week at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, catering to players who are looking for great tournament action on a smaller bankroll. The early highlight is a $350 no-limit hold’em tournament that begins at noon on Aug. 31st.
- The 2013 Ultimate Poker Challenge (Aug 30, ‘13 – Sep 08, ’13) The Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas kicks off its own 14-event series this week, with buy-ins ranging from as low as $120 all the way up to a $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event which begins next week.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2013 EPT Barcelona (Aug 27, ‘13 – Sep 07, ’13) The Casino Barcelona will host the poker world in Spain starting this week for this year’s running of the European Poker Tour Barcelona. The early highlight is the €50,000 super high roller which begins on Aug 30th at noon. The €5,300 no-limit hold’em main event begins with the first of two starting days on Sunday, Sept. 1st at noon and continues until a champion is decided on Sept. 7th.
