World Poker Tour Legends Of Poker Main Event Begins At Bicycle Casino

For the 12th straight year the World Poker Tour has made it’s way to the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA as part of the casino’s 30-event Legends of Poker series. On Thursday, Aug. 29th the WPT Legends of Poker $3,700 no-limit hold’em main event kicks off with the first of three starting days at 1:00 PM PST. Play will continue until a champion is crowned at the WPT final table on Sept. 4th.

This prestigious event has been a foundation of the WPT since it’s inaugural season in 2002, and now in it’s 12th season this continues to be a marquee event on the tour’s schedule. The list of prior champions reads like a who’s-who of old-school and new school talent, with previous winners including: Doyle Brunson, Mel Judah, Dan Harrington, John Phan, Prahlad Friedman, Andy Frankenberger and Will “The Thrill” Failla.

In the 2012 running on this event Josh Hale topped a star-studded final table, outlasting Jeff Madsen, Greg Mueller, Ali Eslami and Max Steinberg to earn the $500,000 first-place prize and his first ever major tournament title.
