In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. INTERNATIONAL
- 2013 EPT/UKIPT – London (Oct 02, ‘13 – Oct 12, ’13) The Grand Connaught Rooms in London, England will play host to the massive 38-event EPT/UKIPT London poker festival starting this week. There are plenty of huge events, but the highlights of the entire series will take place this week, starting with the £50,000 no-limit eight-max super high roller that begins on Oct. 4th and of course the £5,250 no-limit hold’em main event that gets underway with the first of two starting days at noon on Oct. 6th.
- The 2013 WPT National Marrakech (Oct 01, ‘13 – Oct 06, ’13) The World Poker Tour National series pulls into the Casino de Marrakech for an 11-event tournament series this week, with the highlight being the 16,500 MAD (Moroccan Dirham, $1,927 USD) no-limit hold’em main event which begins on Oct. 3rd at 2:00 PM local time.
- The 2013 Players Poker Championship Aruba (Oct 02, ‘13 – Oct 09, ’13) The Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino will once again host the Players Poker Championship Aruba this week, with the centerpiece of the 12-event series being the $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event that kicks off with the first of two starting days on Oct. 5th at 3:00 PM local time.
SOUTH
- The 2013 Choctaw Fall Poker Series (Sep 26, ‘13 – Oct 07, ’13) The Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, OK moves into the final stages of it’s 30-event series this week, with the highlight being the $300,000 guaranteed $1,120 no-limit hold’em main event, which features two starting days each beginning at noon on Oct. 4th and 5th. Play will continue until a champion is decided on Oct. 7th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 Big Poker Oktober (Sep 22, ‘13 – Oct 15, ’13) The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA is moving into the later stages of it’s 32-event Big Poker Oktober series, with this week’s highlights being a $30,000 guaranteed $235 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament that begins on Oct. 6th at 1:00 PM. The $200,000 guaranteed $550 main event gets underway next week, beginning on Oct. 11th.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour California Club One (Sep 27, ‘13 – Oct 06, ’13) The Heartland Poker Tour moves to the Club One Casino in Fresno, CA for it’s third series in the state in as many weeks. The highlight this time around is yet again the $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off on Oct. 4th with the first of three starting flights at 6:15 PM. Flight 1B begins at 10:15 AM on Oct. 5th and the final flight gets underway at 4:15 PM on the same day.
- The 2013 Haig Kelegian Poker Classic (Oct 05, ‘13) The Ocean’s Eleven Casino in Oceanside, CA is hosting the 2013 Haig Kelegian Poker Classic, a $225 no-limit hold’em tournament that will get underway on Oct. 5th at 10:00 AM.
FLORIDA
- The 2013 Isle Open (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 30, ’13) The Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, FL is hosting a 22-event tournament series running for much of October. The kickoff no-limit hold’em event sports a $150,000 guarantee for a $150 buy-in and features six starting flights, one at 11:00 AM and another at 7:00 PM each day on Oct. 3 – 5.
- The 2013 Heartland Poker Tour Florida (Oct 04, ‘13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Daytona Beach Kennel Club & Poker Room is hosting the Heartland Poker Tour beginning this week, with the $1,670 main event beginning next week. The early highlight is a $360 no-limit hold’em event which begins on Oct. 4th, with one starting flight beginning at noon and a second starting at 6:00 PM.
MIDWEST
- The 2013 WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 14, ’13) The Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, IN is the next casino to host a 12-event WSOP Circuit series starting on Oct. 3rd. The early highlight is a $580 no-limit hold’em event that begins on Oct. 6th at noon.
- The 2013 Fall Poker Classic (Oct 05, ‘13 – Oct 21, ’13) The Canterbury Park Racetrack & Card Club in Shakopee, MN kicks off it’s 26-event poker tournament series this weekend, with the early highlight being a the $340 kickoff no-limit hold’em event beginning at noon on Oct. 5th.
NEVADA
- The 2013 Fall Pot of Gold Poker Tournament (Oct 03, ‘13 – Oct 13, ’13) The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV kicks off it’s 16-event fall tournament series this week, starting with a $100,000 guaranteed $260 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features five starting flights, starting at noon and 6:00 PM each day from Oct. 3 – 5.
