It is back on — at least for now.

Dan Cates and Tom Dwan resumed their Durrrr Challenge this week after a months-long hiatus. According to HighstakesDB, Cates came out in the black $200,000 from the short session, and now sits up around $1.2 million after around 20,000 hands played. Cates is set to receive an undisclosed (reportedly renegotiated) bonus if he is up at least $1 after 50,000 hands.

In other heads-up challenge news, Doug “WCGRider” Polk is now up around $600,000 against Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky. Those two are playing 15,000 hands of $100-$200 no-limit hold’em. Sulsky was last year’s biggest winner online, but is having a poor 2013.

Polk is a young poker pro from Las Vegas and is a former competitive video game player.

While the aforementioned duels were intense, arguably the most interesting no-limit hold’em hand of the week was played by none other than a famous young Swede.

At stakes of $300-$600 heads-up no-limit hold’em, unknown punting-peddler ($84,000) had the button and made it $1,200. Viktor Blom ($358,000) made it $4,200, and punting-peddler called.

The flop fell 6Spade Suit 3Club Suit 2Heart Suit.

Blom bet $5,400, and punting-peddler made it $12,000. Blom re-raised to $24,600.

Punting-peddler called, and the 2Club Suit fell on the turn.

Despite the previous aggression, the action went check-check.

The 5Club Suit landed on the river, and Blom checked.

Punting-peddler fired out $31,200, and Blom shoved, putting him/her all in for just $24,000 more. Punting-peddler elected to fold, and Blom raked in the pot worth around $120,000.

Blom used the hand to go on to win around $640,000 over the past week. He is back up to around $900,000 in profits on the year. At one point, he was up $5 million.

Other big winners over the past week were Hac “trex313” Dang ($333,626) Ronny “ronnyr37617” Kaiser ($287,801) and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond ($202,002).
