Season II of the Card Player Poker Tour is underway with one stop complete and multiple stops coming up. Take a look at the weekly happenings and the latest news about the CPPT:
Foxwoods Adds Guarantees
Foxwoods Resort Casino has added guarantees to each of the 11-tournaments on the upcoming Card Player Poker Tour stop.
The series will kick off Feb. 8 with a $600 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee and will conclude Feb. 17 with a $300 no-limit hold’em $20,000 guarantee. Guarantees range from $10,000 for the $250 Omaha hi-lo 8 or better to $75,000 for a $300 and $400 no-limit hold’em. The largest guarantee of the series will come from the $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event, which will promise players no less than a $300,000 prize pool.
The February stop will be the third stop of Season II of the Card Player Poker Tour and is sure to shake up the current CPPT leaderboard currently led by Harvey Vandeven and Timothy Miles.
Foxwoods Resort Casino is the Western Hemisphere’s largest casino destination encompassing more than six million square feet of non-stop entertainment options. The six-casino complex is home to more than 5,800 slot machines, 350 table games and one of the largest bingo halls in the world. The property also offers for then 2,200 rooms in four distinct hotel towers, chef-branded dining at more than 30 restaurants, night clubs, entertainment venues, two spas, high end retail shops and a championship golf course.

23 Days of Christmas at Palm Beach Kennel Club
The Card Player Poker Tour will stop at Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida just before Christmas, but players can begin the holiday celebrations a bit early. Beginning Dec. 1, just prior to the start of the CPPT Dec. 5-16, Palm Beach Kennel Club will host a 23 Days of Christmas promotion for cash games players.
From the hours of 10am to 1am the player holding the highest hand among all cash games tables will win a prize every half hour. From 1am to 3am one prize will be awarded, making 31 prizes each day in total.
Prizes include Samsung LED Smart TVs, Apple Mini G4s, Macbook Pros, Beats headphones, Bose speakers and more. Players can also win gift cards worth $100 and $200.
In order to be eligible for the high hand prize, player in hold’em games must use two hole cards and play the best possible five-card poker hand. Omaha players must flop the hand and Stud players must use two hole cards and three up cards. The highest hand of the hour can be any particular combination of cards and does not have to first meet a specific qualification such as a straight flush or quad fours or better.
The promotion will end Dec. 23.
