One of the most exciting stops on the Card Player Poker Tour will begin this week at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. Just beyond the beaches the of West Palm Beach, Florida lies the only licensed card room in the city, home to 64 poker tables and non-stop action.
The final CPPT stop of 2013 will feature nine tournaments, ranging from a $345 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee tournament to kick off the action Dec. 5, a $135 H.O.R.S.E and a $125 no-limit hold’em turbo among others. The action will wrap up with a $125 no-limit hold’em with bounties tournament Dec. 15, but the focal point of the series will be the $1,120 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee main event. Satellites for the main event will run throughout the series and will feature buy-ins ranging from $65 to $220.
An additional perk offered to players will be the chance to win up to $10,000 in a Player of the Series leaderboard race. The top ten players will split $26,000 upon the completion of the final tournament with $10,000 going to the first-place finisher.
Points will be awarded based on an algorithm that factors in buy-in and field size for all players who play in any of the nine CPPT tournaments and satellites. The second-place finisher will receive $5,000, $3,000 will go to the third-place finisher, and the fourth-place player will take home $2,000. The fifth through tenth-place players will each receive $1,000.
One percent of the total prizepool from each tournament will be held as a contribution to the Player of the Series purse. All players will receive points just for playing in an event and players who finish in the top 10 percent of the field will receive additional points based on final position.
In addition to all of the incredible tournament and cash-game action at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, there is always the exciting greyhound racing, just outside the windows of the handsomely appointed tournament area.
Alongside the great poker action and greyhound racing, players and visitors can also choose from two restaurants on site for an exceptional dining experience.
The Paddock Restaurant offers a unique combination of fine dining and entertainment where patrons will find an expansive dining room featuring a view of the racing action. The restaurant has been recently renovated and diners will be served meals that have each been cooked to order and made from the best quality foods. Table top televisions are available in addition to overhead monitors and large screen televisions.
The Terrace Restaurant is located near the race track’s second floor and offers sit-down, full-service dining at the finish line with air-conditioned comfort. For diners looking for a lighter fare, the property also boasts a deli and concession stand snacks as well as fully-stocked bars.
Season II of the CPPT kicked off in August of 2013 at bestbet in Jacksonville, Florida. After hitting Florida a second time, the tour will then stop at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada before returning to Florida in May of 2014 for another stop at bestbet.
