Cards get in the air at 12:00 PM EST, with players beginning with 30,000 in chips and starting blinds of 50 – 100. There will be 60-minute blind levels through the ends of days 1A and 1B, with 90-minute levels beginning for level 9 at the start of day 2. This is a single-entry event, with players able to enter on either day starting day. Registration will close at the start of day 2.
Over the past decade the PCA main event has consistently been one of the biggest events on the tournament circuit every year, always making a huge impact on the Card Player Player of the Year race.
The winner has finished inside the top ten in the POY race four out of the last six years, with prior champions including the likes of Gus Hansen (2004), Ryan Daut (2007), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (2008) and Galen Hall (2011).
In 2013 PCA main event champion Dimitar Danchev earned $1,859,000 for topping a field of 987 players, defeating Joel Micka heads-up for the title. Micka took home $1,190,000 for his runner-up finish.
