Card Player Poker Tour Foxwoods is about to get underway at the well-known Connecticut resort this Saturday. Cards will be in the air for the 11 tournament series at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on February 8 and will conclude February 17.
The stop comes on the heels of the Palm Beach Kennel Club, which wrapped up Dec. 16 in West Palm Beach, Florida and crowned Florida pro John McNulty the latest main event champion with a nearly $70,000 pay-day.
The much anticipated series will begin Saturday with a $600 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee and will conclude with a $300 no-limit hold’em $20,000 guarantee.
The winner of the $1,650 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event will become the third main event champion of Season II and join bestbet Jacksonville winner Harvey Vandeven and McNulty on the list of champions. The final table will be live-streamed on CardPlayer.com complete with play-by-play action and expert commentary. Each of the 11 tournaments will have guaranteed prize pools that range from $10,000 for the $250 Omaha eight-or-better or better to $75,000 for $300 and $400 no-limit hold’em tournaments. Players can pre-purchase tickets to any or all of the 11 tournaments by visiting pockertickets.com/foxwoods.
The upcoming stop is also sure to shake up the current CPPT leaderboard, currently led by Vandeven, Timothy Miles and McNulty.
Foxwoods Resort Casino, located on the Pequot Indian Reservation, is one of the largest casinos in the Western Hemisphere encompassing more than six million square feet of non-stop entertainment options. The six-casino complex is home to more than 5,800 slot machines, 350 table games and one of the largest bingo halls in the world. The property also boasts 2,200 rooms in four distinct hotel towers, chef-branded dining at more than 30 restaurants including the Hard Rock Café, Cedars Steak House, Red Lantern Asian restaurant and Al Dente Italian restaurant along with casual dining places, grab-and-go options and the Festival Buffet. Guests can also enjoy night clubs, entertainment venues including a two-story arcade, a bowling alley and a comedy club, two spas, high end retail shops and a championship golf course.
Following Foxwoods the tour will head to Atlantis Resort Spa Casino in Reno, Nevada and then go south to the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California. The tour will then take a trip overseas to the Paddy Power Poker Irish Open in Dublin, Ireland before hitting bestbet Jacksonville for a second time. After the Florida stop the tour will go to Choctaw Resort Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. Other stops on Season II include the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California and a Caribbean Cruise aboard the Allure of the Seas – a seven-night Western Caribbean trip.
