Ultimate Poker — Nevada’s first online poker site — announced a big deal Thursday that will allow it to expand its customer base in the Silver State.
The online firm, owned by Station Casinos, has struck a partnership to be the official online poker site for the company that owns Reno’s Peppermill Hotel Casino, as well as four other carpet joints in the northern part of the Silver State, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Station Casinos itself owns 17 casinos in Nevada.
By adding more brick-and-mortar properties into the mix, customers will have more options for cashing out and depositing, as well as taking their virtual game to the live poker tables.
Peppermill still needs to be given the final OK from Nevada regulators to get involved with the real-money online gambling business, but it isn’t expected to have any trouble doing so.
Just three poker sites are operational in Nevada. In addition to Ultimate Poker, a site from the WSOP (utilizing software from 888) and a product from South Point Casino (Real Gaming) are live. Dozens more are licensed but don’t have games yet.
It was estimated that online poker brought in $200,000 statewide during January.
Poker as a whole was $123,891,000 in Nevada in 2013.
