The El Cortez, an old-fashioned casino located in Downtown Las Vegas, has inked a deal with Ultimate Gaming for Internet poker in the Silver State.

Ultimate Gaming is the owner of Ultimate Poker, one of three online poker sites currently operating in Nevada. Ultimate Gaming also has operations in New Jersey, the second of three states with legalized online poker in the United States. Delaware is the third.

The deal is a marketing arrangement, giving Ultimate Poker players the opportunity to deposit and cash out from their virtual accounts at the El Cortez cage.

“We’re excited to join in this new venture and bring even more gaming options to guests of the property,” Alexandra Epstein, executive vice president of the El Cortez, said in a statement. “By combining the online accessibility of Ultimate Poker with the classic Vegas feel of the El Cortez we’re giving new and existing players a different way to experience the game of poker.”

Opening in 1941, the El Cortez is one of Las Vegas’ oldest casinos.

Earlier this year, Ultimate Poker, owned by brick-and-mortar casino developer Station Casinos, struck a partnership to be the official online poker site for the company that owns Reno’s Peppermill Hotel Casino, as well as four other carpet joints in the northern part of the Silver State.

Station Casinos itself owns 17 casinos in Nevada.

By adding more brick-and-mortar properties into the mix, customers will have more options for cashing out and depositing, as well as taking their virtual game to the live poker tables.

Ultimate Poker is a competitor to the WSOP-branded online poker site of Caesars Interactive. Recently, Nevada gave OK to an online poker network involving Caesars, 888 and Treasure Island.

Nevada’s online poker industry brought in $862,000 in May.

Many are looking for ways to increase the liquidity of the games, which have been sluggish to take off. A Nevada-Delaware partnership is also in the works.
