In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. Check out all the tournament action set to go down in your own backyard from September 8th through the 14th. Head to our tournament database for more information.

NORTHEAST

  • The 2014 WPT Borgata Poker Open (Sep 02, ‘14 – Sep 19, ’14) The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ has played host to many of the biggest poker tournaments in the Northeast in recent years, and is set to continue in that tradition this week as it makes it’s way into the second half of it’s Borgata Poker Open tournament series. The centerpiece of this whole festival is the $3 million guaranteed $3,500 World Poker Tour no-limit hold’em main event that kicks off with the first off two starting days beginning at 11:00 AM local time on Sept. 14th.

SOUTH

  • The 2014 WSOP Circuit IP Biloxi (Sep 04, ‘14 – Sep 15, ’14) The IP Biloxi Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi is hosting the World Series of Poker Circuit, which is now entering the second half of the 12-event series. Of course the marquee event of the whole affair is the $1,675 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days beginning at noon on Sept. 12th.

NEVADA

  • The 2014 Deepstack Extravaganza 3.5 (Sep 11, ‘14 – Sep 30, ’14) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is kicking off a 27-event series later this week, with the early highlight being a four-day $200,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins with the first of three starting days at noon on Sept. 11th. The $1,600 buy-in main event will kick off on Sept. 26th.

CALIFORNIA

  • The 2014 HPT Commerce Poker Series (Sep 04, ‘14 – Sep 22, ’14) The Commerce Casino, situated on the edge of Los Angeles, kicked off the latest of it’s many great tournament series last week. The main event, which is part of the Heartland Poker Tour, will take place next week, but in the meantime the biggest draw should be the $100,000 guaranteed $1,100 buy-in event that gets underway at 1:00 PM local time on Sept. 13th.

MOUNTAIN

  • The 2014 HPT Golden Gates (Sep 05, ‘14 – Sep 15, ’14) The 2014 Heartland Poker Tour returns to the Golden Gates casino in Black Hawk, Colorado. The $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event begins with the first of four starting days at noon on Sept. 10th. The champion will be decided at the final table on Sept. 15th.
  • The 2014 Todd Brunson Montana Poker Challenge (Sep 07, ‘14 – Sep 13, ’14) The Marina Cay Lodge in Bigfork, Montana will host the 2014 Todd Brunson Montana Poker Challenge $1,665 no-limit hold’em main event, which starts at noon on Sept. 12th.

MIDWEST

  • The 2014 Michigan State Poker Championship (Sep 12, ‘14 – Oct 19, ’14) The FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan is playing host to the Michigan State Poker Championship, which is highlighted by the $200,000 guaranteed $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off with the first of three starting days beginning at 4:00 PM on day 1A.

INTERNATIONAL

  • The 2014 APT Manila (Sep 10, ’14 – Sep 17, ’14) The Resorts World Manila Casino in the Philippines will host the latest stop on the Asian Poker Tour beginning this week, with the main event being a 50,000 Philippine pesos or approximately $1,150 USD. The event features two starting days beginning at 1:00 PM local time.
