In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 2014 Deepstack Extravaganza 3.5 (Sep 11, ‘14 – Sep 30, ’14) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas kicked off a 27-event series later last week, with the highlight of the coming days being a $150,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features two starting days, each beginning at noon local time on Sept. 19th and 20th.
- The 2014 Omaha & Stud Tournament Weekend (Sep 19, ’14 – Sep 21, ’14) The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada is hosting a special series of events this weekend centered around Omaha and seven card stud tournaments. Check out the link above for a complete list of events.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2014 HPT Commerce Poker Series (Sep 04, ‘14 – Sep 22, ’14) The Commerce Casino, situated on the edge of Los Angeles, kicked off the latest of it’s many great tournament series last week. The main event, which is part of the Heartland Poker Tour, features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and kicks off with the first of two starting days beginning at 1:00 Pm local time on Sept. 18th.
- The 2014 HPT Thunder Valley (Sep 15, ‘14 – Sep 29, ’14) After the Heartland Poker Tour main event wraps up at Commerce the HPT’s next main event will only be a few days from kicking off a the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA. That event will begin next week, but in the meantime there will be plenty of action in the preliminary events including a $200,000 guaranteed $425 buy-in event that gets underway with the first of four starting flights at 4:00 PM on Sept. 18th.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 Michigan State Poker Championship (Sep 12, ‘14 – Oct 19, ’14) The FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan is playing host to the Michigan State Poker Championship, which is highlighted by the $200,000 guaranteed $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off with the first of three starting days beginning at 4:00 PM on Oct. 16th. The survivors will return to play down to champion on Oct. 19th.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2014 Latin Poker Series Millions II (Sep 13, ‘14 – Sep 20, ’14) The Majestic Casino in Panama City is hosting the second running of the LPS Millions, with the $1 million guaranteed $850 no-limit hold’em main event having begun with the first of three starting days at 3:00 PM local time on Sept. 14th.
- The 2014 Genting Poker Series Nottingham (Sep 17, ‘14 – Sep 21, ’14) The Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham is hosting the latest stop of the Genting Poker
Series, which is highlighted by a £440 no-limit hold’em event that features three starting days beginning at noon local time starting on Sept. 17th.
