In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. CALIFORNIA
- The CPPT II Big Poker Oktober (Sep 21, ’14 – Oct 15, ’14) The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California will host one of the final stops of Season II of the Card Player Poker Tour beginning this week. Sure to be one of the largest tournament series of the season, the focal point will be the $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event featuring the Bike’s own Quantum Reload format beginning on Oct. 11th and concluding Oct. 15th with the crowning of yet another CPPT champion. While the main event is a few weeks away, there is plenty of tournament action to partake in this week including a $1 million-guaranteed $160 buy-in event that features a whopping 28 starting flights spread from Sept. 26th through Oct. 6th.
- The 2014 HPT Thunder Valley (Sep 15, ‘14 – Sep 29, ’14) The Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA is hosting the next stop of the Heartland Poker Tour this week, with the $1,650 buy-in no-limit hold’em event getting underway at 3:00 PM local time on Sept. 25th. Days 1B and 1C will begin at 11:00 AM on the 26th and 27th.
NEVADA
- The 2014 Deepstack Extravaganza 3.5 (Sep 11, ‘14 – Sep 30, ’14) The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas kicked off a 27-event series earlier this month, and this week it will reach its climax. The centerpiece of the whole affair is the $400,000 guaranteed $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event. The five-day tournament will get underway with the first of three starting days beginning at noon local time on Sept. 26th.
- The 2014 Aria Super High Roller III (Sep 26, ‘14) The Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV is hosting the third of it’s super high roller events this Friday, Sept. 26th. The $50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em event beings at 2:00 PM local time and will play down to a winner that day.
FLORIDA
- The 2014 $50,000 Guarantee September (Sep 25, ‘14 – Sep 28, ’14) The bestbet Jacksonville is hosting a $50,000 guaranteed $200 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features four starting flights, with the first beginning at 7:00 PM on Sept. 25th.
- The 2014 Little Slick Fall Poker Series (Sep 24, ’14 – Sep 28, ’14) The Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa kicks off a $100,000 guaranteed tournament beginning on Sept. 24th. The $150 buy-in will feature eight starting flights, with 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM start times each day from Sept. 24th through the 27th.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 Ultimate Overlay Tournament (Sep 27, ‘14 – Oct 02, ’14) The Canterbury Park Racetrack & Card Club in Shakopee, Minnesota is set to host a $100,000 guaranteed tournament of it’s own beginning this weekend. The first of five starting days begins for the $130 buy-in begins 1t 6:300 PM on Sept. 27th.
