This weekend, DraftKings hosted a $27 buy-in Millionaire Maker contest, drawing a sold out field of 92,400 entries and creating a total prize pool of $2.2 million.
After the final whistle was blown on Monday Night Football, it was none other than poker pro Matt “SamENole” Smith who came out on top, earning a $1 million payday.
Smith, who was one of the original online poker superstars, racked up 235.26 points thanks to big performances from Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Gates. Check out his full team below.
The contest was such a success that DraftKings immediately announced a second edition of the Millionaire Maker for this Sunday, Oct. 12. The $27 buy-in contest is once again expected to sell out and will pay out the top 15,500 players. Players are permitted to submit as many entries as they’d like.
