In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. CALIFORNIA
- The 2014 CPPT II Westside Poker Championship (Oct 17, ‘14 – Oct 26, ’14) The Card Player Poker Tour’s latest stop for Season II is the Hollywood Park Casino near LAX airport in California for the 2014 Westside Poker Championship series. The centerpiece of the seven-event series is of course the CPPT main event, which is a $100,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event with a $340 buy-in. The tournament features three starting days, each kicking off at noon local time, from Oct. 23rd though the 25th. Survivors from those flights will return on Oct. 26th to play down to a champion.
- The 2014 WPTDeepstacks San Diego (Oct 25, ‘14 – Nov 02, ’14) Ocean’s Eleven Casino in Oceanside, California is set to host the 2014 WPT Deesptacks San Diego series this week, beginning with a $50,000 guaranteed $230 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins with the first of two starting days getting underway at 11:00 AM local time on Oct. 25th.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond (Oct 16, ‘14 – Oct 27, ’14) The World Series of Poker Circuit has returned to the site of some it’s largest events, the Horseshoe Hammond on the Indiana/Illinois border. The series features 13 events, highlighted by the $1,675 WSOP Circuit no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days at noon on Oct. 24th.
- The 2014 HPT Missouri Ameristar (Oct 17, ‘14 – Oct 27, ’14) The Heartland Poker Tour is currently at the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in St. Charles, Missouri for it’s latest stop. The centerpiece of the whole affair is the $1,650 HPT no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of three starting flights at 3:00 PM local time on Oct. 24th. Flights 1B and 1C begin at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM respectively on the 25th.
NEVADA
- The 2014 Wynn Fall Classic (Oct 16, ‘14 – Oct 28, ’14) The Wynn Las Vegas is currently hosting their 2014 Wynn Fall Classic tournament series, which features six events this year including a $250,000 guaranteed $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days kicking off at noon on Oct. 25th.
- The 2014 Poker Nevada Fall Challenge (Oct 17, ‘14 – Oct 27, ’14) The Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno is a few days into it’s Poker Nevada Fall Challenge Series, a 23-event festival highlighted by the $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event which features two starting days, each beginning at noon on Oct. 24th and 25th.
FLORIDA
- The 2014 WPT bestbet Poker Scramble & Fall Series (Oct 24, ‘14 – Nov 11, ’14) bestbet Jacksonville is hosting a 20-event series starting this week. The series is centered around a $1,000,000 guaranteed $5,000 buy-in event early next month, but this week’s highlight is a $50,000 guaranteed $200 buy-in that begins with the first of four starting flights beginning at noon on Oct. 24th.
- The 2014 Fall Deep Stack Series (Oct 16, ’14 – Oct 26, ’14) The Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa has a three-event series with $450,000 in guarantees going on now, with the marquee event being a $200,000 guaranteed $560 buy-in event that features six starting flights, with 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM start times on Oct. 23rd through the 25th.
SOUTH
- The 2014 Fall Poker Series (Oct 23, ’14 – Nov 02, ’14) The Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma is home to a number of huge tournament series, including a stop on the Card Player Poker Tour. Their latest festival is a 21-event tournament series that begins this week. The early highlight is a $150,000 guaranteed $125 buy-in event that features four starting flights, with the first kicking off at noon on Oct. 24th.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2014 IPT Nova Gorcia II (Oct 22, ’14 – Oct 27, ’14) The Perla Casino & Hotel in Nova Gorica, Italy is the site of the latest stop on the Italian Poker Tour. The €1,100 no-limit main event begins on Oct. 23rd with the first of two starting days kicking off at 2L00 PM local time.
- The 2014 WPT National Phillipines (Oct 18, ‘14 – Oct 28, ’14) The Solaire Resort & Casino in Kalakhang Maynila, Phillippines launched into a 18-event series last weekend as part of the World Poker Tour National tour. This week will see the $2,200 no-limit hold’em main event begin with the first of two starting days beginning at noon on Oct. 23rd.
- The 2014 WPTN Vienna (Oct 15, ’14 – Oct 26, ’14) The WPT National is also in Vienna, Austria this week. The €1,100 no-limit main event at this eight-event series begins on Oct. 21st with the first of two starting days kicking off at 1:00 PM on Oct. 21st.
