In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 2014 Deepstack Extravaganza IV (Oct 30, ‘14 – Nov 26, ’14) The Venetian Hotel and Casino Las Vegas seems to have non-stop tournament action. The latest series is a 46-event festival that kicked off on Oct. 30th. This week’s highlight is a $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The tournament begins with the first of three starting days each beginning at noon local time on Nov 17th, 18th and 19th.
- The 2014 WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood (Nov 13, ‘14 – Nov 24, ’14) The Planet Hollywood Las Vegas is the latest stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit, and it is all centered around the $1,000,000 guaranteed $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event that kicks off on Nov. 21st with the first of two starting days that both begin at noon local time.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2014 WPT500 & WPT UK (Nov 06, ‘14 – Nov 23, ’14) The Dusk Till Dawn In Lenton, England has been hosting the World Poker Tour for a few weeks now, but the centerpiece of the whole affair is the WPT’s £3,000 buy-in £1 million guaranteed main event, which kicks off with the first of two starting days at 1:00 PM local time on Nov. 18th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2014 L.A. Poker Open (Nov 07, ‘14 – Nov 23, ’14) The Commerce Casino’s L.A. Poker Open has been running for a few weeks now, but is moving into it’s final stages this week. The main event is a $500,000 guaranteed $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event which begins with the first of three starting days at 1:00 PM local time on Nov. 20th.
NORTHEAST
- The 2014 Fall Poker Open (Nov 04, ‘14 – Nov 21, ’14) The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ launched it’s Fall Poker Open series of 22 tournaments earlier this month but this week will see the festival reach it’s climax with the $1 million guaranteed $2,700 no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament began on Sunday, Nov 16th but players can still enter on day 1B on Nov. 17th, with play beginning at 11:00 AM local time.
- The 2014 Fall Showdown (Nov 19, ‘14 – Nov 23, ’14) The Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT has a seven-event tournament series kicking off this week with the highlight being a $100,000 guaranteed $1,100 no-limit hold’em event that begins at 11:00 AM on Nov. 22nd.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 Hollywood Poker Open Lawrenceburg (Nov 13, ‘14 – Nov 23, ’14) The Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, IN is hosting a 20-event tournament series that began late last week. The centerpiece of the whole affair is the $1,115 no-limit hold’em event that begins at noon on Nov. 22nd.
