Poker Business: NYX Gaming Acquires Ongame

Online Gaming Firm Acquires Popular Poker Network

NYX Gaming Group announced Tuesday that it acquired the Ongame Network from Amaya Gaming Group. The price was not disclosed.

According to a press release, the acquisition provides NYX with a business-to-business poker network. NYX has existing casino, bingo and lottery products in Europe and the US.

“Ongame has been renowned in the gaming industry for its excellent poker products, platform and service," said Matt Davey, CEO of NYX Gaming Group. "Not only does this acquisition provide NYX Gaming Group with one of the best poker products in the industry, it also gives us access to products that are regulated in several jurisdictions, and more importantly a talent pool that can help grow all parts of our business.”

The head of a firm with physical presences in Stockholm, Las Vegas and Sydney added: "With NYX OGS arguably the fastest growing casino product in the market today, we are just at the beginning of a great journey. The addition of Ongame is a perfect start to our strategic plans for continued growth in Europe and the United States. We are committed to the integration and development of the product and plan to invest in this new business in order to leverage every asset for future growth.”

NYX is preparing for a public listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The firm also runs Card Player Poker.

Amaya Gaming Group is the owner of PokerStars and Full Tilt.
