More than 11,000 hands over the past week netted poker pro Phil “Polarizing” Ivey $690,000, according to tracking data from HighstakesDB.

Ivey has been up and down over the past month, but he has managed to put a serious dent into his deficit on 2014. Ivey is still down a little under $2 million on the year. That figure is second worst, trailing only Gus Hansen’s $5.5 million in losses.

The 10-time WSOP bracelet winner played a couple of six-figure pots at stakes of $300-$600 over the past seven days (online poker action isn’t what it once was). The first one was a chop, as Ivey and his opponent both held K-4-X-X on a board reading KClub Suit 4Spade Suit 3Heart Suit 4Heart Suit 7Heart Suit.

Ivey was sitting with nearly $500,000 on one table in his match against Mikael “punting-peddler” Thuritz. The second six-figure hand Ivey played against Thuritz was when both players got all their money in preflop. Ivey was holding A-K, while Thuritz tabled A-Q.

The flop brought a queen, but Ivey turned a king to take the lead, and it held.

Despite the losses against Ivey, Thuritz is still up more than $2.3 million on 2014, second only to Dan “jungleman12” Cates who is up $2.8 million. Many top online pros have opted out of having their long-term results tracked, so Cates’ lead isn’t official.

In addition to playing the big-bet games over the past week, Ivey grinded the $1,500-$3,000 eight-game max and $2,000-$4,000 limit Omaha eight-or-better.
