A snitch helped lead authorities in Minneapolis to bust an illegal gambling house that was offering poker, according to reporting from myfoxtwincities.com.

A search of the house also uncovered a stash of weapons and drugs, the report added.

The alleged organizer of the underground card game, Ulisyie Powell, hired armed guards for the property, police said. He allegedly took a rake.

The game was illegal, police said, because there is no permit to gamble at the address, per the City of Minneapolis licensing unit and the Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement section of the Department of Public Safety, the report added.

“For the consumer, my advice would be to stay away from [games like these]. It’s not regulated. There’s no assurance there is any integrity to the game you are playing and if you have a problem, you have no recourse,” Division special agent Carla Cincotta told KMSP.
