Nevada Online Poker Revenue Falls To $665KAll-Time Low Experienced By Silver State Sites |
|
According to figures just released by state gaming regulators, Nevada’s online poker industry yielded $665,000 in revenue in October, the lowest figure since the state began releasing revenue data for its web poker sites in February.
Thanks to the World Series of Poker live tournaments this summer, June saw combined revenue of more than $1 million.
I-poker revenue has fallen ever since.
In November, Ultimate Poker, then one of Nevada’s three licensed and regulated poker sites in operation, announced it was closing its virtual doors. Just products from Caesars and South Point Casino are still running real-money online poker games.
October will be the last full month of having three sites in Nevada. In other words, November’s online poker revenue will probably be another low for the state’s industry.
Here’s a look at the revenues for web poker by month:
September: $693,000
August: $742,000
July: $985,000
June: $1,037,000
May: $862,000
April: $792,000
March: $926,000
February: $824,000
It has been predicted that the online gambling market in the Untied States could reach $5.2 billion by 2020. That figure, however, is a scaled-back amount from previous estimates. If online poker continues to disappoint, predictions could be slashed again.
California is expected to be the only additional state to OK web poker in 2015.
