The 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Rock’n’Roll Poker Open $2 million guaranteed $3,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event attracted 601 entries to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in South Florida over the weekend.
From that sizable field Chris Bolek emerged victorious, defeating Sean Winter heads-up to capture the title and the first-place prize of $480,200.
Bolek also scored 1,260 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. This was his third final table of the year, having finished runner-up in the $1 million guaranteed WPT bestbet Poker Scramble main event less than a month ago in Northern Florida. For that deep run he earned $284,371 and 1,200 POY points. With his win this week he climbed into 27th place in the overall POY standings, with 2,740 total points and year-to-date earnings of $793,641.
Sean Winter earned $270,000 and 1,050 points for his runner-up showing. Winter has also been having a lot of success in Florida in 2014. He took down the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville $300,000 guaranteed main event in May for $84,000 and 360 points. The young poker pro now sits in 129th place in the POY rankings after his latest deep run.
