Court Orders California Tribe To Cease Online BingoTemporary Restraining Order Granted By Federal Judge |

Late last week, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California issued a temporary restraining order at the request of the state of California to block the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel from continuing to offer online bingo to those in California, outside of the tribe’s lands.
California sued the tribe last month, as it believes the tribe is violating state and federal law, as well as the 2003 compact between the two parties.
The tribe says the state is wrong, as it contends that the type of gaming is permissible under the compact and under federal law thanks to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
Here’s a look at the temporary restraining order.
