Over $1 million has been awarded in prize pool money to players in the Card Player Poker Tour Wynn Spring Classic and there is one final tournament left before the event comes to a close.
The main event will begin Mar. 15 at 12 pm PST and will offer the largest buy in and the largest prize pool of the series; $2,100 and a $300,000 guarantee. With each event so far crushing the guaranteed money, the main event is expected to be no exception.
Players will begin with 25,000 in tournament chips and play 10 60-minute levels on day 1a and 1b. Breaks will be 15 minutes every two levels and registration and re-entry is open until the start of level 5, or approximately 4:30 pm. Day 2 will begin Mar. 17 at 12 pm and play through level 20. Day 3 will begin Mar. 18 at 12 pm and will continue until a winner is declared.
The marquee tournament of the Wynn’s Spring Classic will feature daily updates and videos from the tournament floor on cardplayer.com.
$250 super-satellites for the main event will begin Mar. 14.
As the series heads into the final stretch, two big winners have already emerged.
The largest tournament outside the main event, the $600 no-limit hold’em $250,000 guarantee brought in a whopping $348,909 and came to a conclusion when Dan Healey bested all 654 players, taking home $68,742. Runner-up Jon Lactaoen took home $46,405, adding to his $10,952 score from a win in the $300 no-limit hold’em $25,000 guarantee.
In total, three new names have been added to the CPPT leaderboard.
Seniors event winner James Agate has earned over $28,000 in two tournaments and now sits in the ninth place spot on the leaderboard. Healey now holds the third place spot for most money won on the season and Lactaoen now sits in fourth.
