Online Poker: Ivey Loses Again, Drops $200KCould Dan Cates Pass Ivey This Year For Second-Most Successful Full Tilt Account In History? |
|
Another week brings more losses for Phil Ivey, who was once online poker’s most profitable player. The poker pro lost just under $200,000 over the past seven days on Full Tilt.
Ivey is down $1.5 million on 2015. He lost $2.3 million last year. Before Black Friday in 2011, Ivey was up more than $19 million lifetime on Full Tilt. He has dumped $6.58 million of those winnings since late 2012, after creating his “Polarizing” screen name and playing on the rebooted Full Tilt.
He has played 196,000 hands from late 2012 to the present.
Still, Ivey is up roughly $12.66 million on Full Tilt lifetime, which puts him in second place all-time behind Patrik Antonius. Dan “jungleman12” Cates has won $10.36 million lifetime on Full Tilt, which puts him in the third spot. If Ivey keeps losing, and Cates keeps steadily accumulating more profits, it won’t be too long before Ivey drops to the third spot. Could it happen this year? If Ivey continues this seemingly endless downswing, then it seems like it would be a sure bet. However, it might depend on how much Cates plays this year on Full Tilt.
Cates is up $150,000 on Full Tilt this year, putting in around 1,500 hands. He also plays on PokerStars, where he is up around $900,000 lifetime, but down $300,000 this year.
Between PokerStars and Full Tilt in 2014, Cates, a Maryland native, topped the online poker world with $3.43 million in winnings. He has started off 2015 quietly, however.
While Ivey lost, the following players had winning weeks online: bbvisbadforme ($288,089), Trueteller ($224,594), Viktor “Isildur1” Blom $205,449) and Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky ($188,919).
